The objective was to revitalise the digital presence of Wxy., a brand that had been operating on a Shopify for several years.

While the business was established, the existing storefront reflected an older era of e-commerce, missing out on the drastic improvements in design flexibility and backend efficiency that Shopify has introduced in recent years. The goal was to deliver a high-performance, aesthetically modern website that aligned with current design trends while ensuring that the transition remained seamless and non-disruptive to their active customer base.

Our approch

I kicked things off by matching the client’s inspiration board with a new theme that aligned with their brand while improving the navigation. After overhauling the site structure to ensure every page and collection was fully SEO-optimised, I performed a final app audit. I stripped away the clutter and integrated high-performance tools specifically chosen to scale traffic and sales.

The challenge

The primary hurdle was the design - the client needed a visual overhaul without risking a dip in current performance or complicating daily operations.

Key challenges included:

  • Outdated Architecture: Navigating an old theme that lacked mobile-first responsiveness and modern customisation.
  • Operational Continuity: Upgrading the entire infrastructure without taking the site offline or pausing the checkout process.
  • Discovery Deficit: A lack of modern SEO integration and automated feed management meant products weren't reaching their full potential in external search ecosystems.

The solution

The final result was a sleek, intuitive store optimised for both speed and discovery. Beyond the website design, I revamped the site’s app library to turn the store into a proactive sales engine.

Key implementations included:

  • Google Shopping Integration: Automated feeds to ensure products appear natively in Google’s "Shopping" tab.
  • AI-Enhanced Search: Implementing intelligent search apps that allow the store to appear in AI-driven search results and provide predictive suggestions to users.
  • Traffic Boosters: Streamlining the app stack to remove bloat, which improved page load speeds—a critical factor for both user experience and SEO rankings.
